Mission and Scope of Action

The Société Luxembourgeoise de Kinésithérapie du Sport (S.L.K.S.), a.s.b.l., founded in 1986, is affiliated to the Comité Olympique et Sportif Luxembourgeois (C.O.S.L.), and member of the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy (IFSPT). It regroups physiotherapists that demonstrate advanced competencies in the field of Sports Physiotherapy, and currently counts 93 members (2022). Its mission is to promote and develop the Sports Physiotherapy profession, to inform and educate physiotherapists about advances in the fields of Sports Physiotherapy and Medicine, and to protect Clean Sport by abiding by the World Anti-Doping Agency Code and its 8 International Standards. It aims to improve the quality of Sports Physiotherapy in Luxembourg on the level of knowledge, skills, and professional responsibility. The S.L.K.S. organizes and hosts scientific conferences, symposia, and technical workshops, and promotes the development of the profession by creating means of education and information. Furthermore, the S.L.K.S. represents its members before partner organizations and public authorities. Through their collaboration with sports clubs, federations, and the C.O.S.L., the S.L.K.S. encourages an evidence-based practice and best quality of care for athletes of all ages and abilities by nominating educated, specialized physiotherapists in the field of Sports Physiotherapy.
